Project Overview

The Ministry of Housing of the Government of Bahrain (MOH) has embarked upon major housing development plans in East Hidd. The Housing developments have intensive water demands requiring a dedicated Water Distribution Station and associated water transmission infrastructure.

The EPC-1 scheme is to draw a transmission supply of potable water from the Hidd Forwarding Station and thereafter directly pump the potable water at the East Hidd water Distribution Station and directly feed to the distribution network of the East Hidd housing development areas.

As a new site, all aspects of site preparation, excavation works, and provision of all site-wide infrastructure. Utilities and facilities will be required (such as site boundary walls/gateways, access roads, guardhouse, power supply telecommunications/ SCADA, water supply, and site-wide drainage. Site-wide lighting, outlet/discharge of overflow/scour pipework, and/or emergency purge solutions of the storage and pumping system).

BOC's scope of work under this project includes a turnkey contract package for the permanent Distribution Station Works at East Hidd Housing Development which comprises partially buried RCC Storage Reservoir of minimum 2 Million Gallons capacity and an associated fully automated Distribution Pumping Station with variable speed pumps of 5 Million Gallons per day ultimate capacity and other associated facilities.
